PLEASANTON, Calif. (Aug. 13, 2019) — A Mr. Big colt brought $45,000 to top Tuesday’s Northern California Yearling and Horses of Racing Age Sale at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.

The colt, out of the Into Mischief mare Perched, was consigned by Harris Farms and purchased by Legacy Ranch.

Right behind the topper was a Tamarando colt that sold to Lawrence Lewis for $44,000. He was out of the Talkin Man mare Aspen Gal and also was consigned by Harris Farms.

The sale showed increases over last year’s sale in average and median, fueled in large part by yearlings sired by some of the state’s fashionable stallions like Mr. Big and Tamarando.

The two highest-priced fillies went for $30,000. One was by Tamarando, out of the Ole mare Chi Chi Nette, was consigned by Harris Farms and purchased by Reina Gonzalez.

The other $30,000 filly was by Dialed In, out of the Mutakddim mare Nuffsaid Nuffsaid, was consigned by Woodbridge Farm, Agent, and was purchased by Harris Farms.
