ALBANY, Calif. (Feb. 8, 2023) – Multiple stakes winner Passarando and fellow California-bred Happy Does are entered in Saturday’s $100,000 El Camino Real Derby for 3-year-olds at Golden Gate.
Passarando is by Tamarando, out of the Lucky Pulpit mare I’m Passing Ya Now, was bred by owners Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Steve Specht. He has four wins in eight starts, earnings of $240,830 and is coming off a third in the Jan. 7 California Cup Derby.
Happy Does is by Southern Image, out of the Comic Strip mare Handful, was bred by Dr. & Mrs. William Gray, is owned by Gray Farms and trained by Felix Rondan. He has three wins in seven starts, earnings of $85,256 and is coming off a Jan. 21 optional claiming win.
