Passion For Gold has First Cal-crop Winner

ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 21, 2022) — California sire Passion For Gold (Medaglia d Oro x C’ Est L’ Amour) is off to a big start with his first California crop to race. He was represented by Gold Council, who became the first California winner in his first start for his sire Passion For Gold by winning a Maiden Special Weight on the turf at Santa Anita on closing day.  Trained by Kristin Mulhall, Gold Council won going away by 2 1/2 lengths. 

Passion For Gold was a Grade I winner of the Criterium Saint Cloud and Champion Two Year Old in France for Godolphin.  He was purchased and stood five breeding seasons in Chile, siring graded stakes horses in Chile and Peru with earnings over $2.7 million. His runners have an outstanding 82 percent winners.

He returned to the United States to stand at Milky Way Farm in Temecula, California.
