ARCADIA, Calif. (Mar. 30, 2016) – Multiple graded winner Pepper Crown and fellow California-bred Songforjohnmichael are entered in Saturday’s $75,000 Santana Mile Stakes at Santa Anita.
Songforjohnmichael is by Songandaprayer, out of the Quiet American mare Silent Demand, was bred by Kathleen Kennedy, is owned by RL Stables and trained by Dan Hendricks. He has four wins in eight starts, earnings of $135,230 and is coming off a three consecutive wins.
Pepper Crown is by Peppered Cat, out of the Crowning Storm mare Crown This Lady, was bred by Alex Paszkeicz, is owned by Steve Moger and trained by Ed Moger Jr. He has nine wins in 31 starts, earnings of $409,752 and is coming off a second in a Feb. 28 optional claimer.
