Premier Thoroughbreds Wins TOBA Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 22, 2019) – Phil Lebherz’s Premier Thoroughbreds has been named California state breeder of the year by the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association.

Premier Thoroughbreds bred 2018 California-bred Horse of the Year Spiced Perfection and owns champion California stallion Smiling Tiger.

The National Breeder of the Year and the National Small Breeder of the Year will also be revealed at the TOBA National Awards Dinner, to be held Saturday, Sept. 7, at Fasig-Tipton. James E. “Ted” Bassett will be presented with the TOBA Industry Service Award and John D. Gunther will receive the prestigious Triple Crown Breeders Trophy for homebred Justify.
