ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2023) – California stallion Rumpus Cat was represented by his first winner on Sunday when Clever Clover won the third race at Golden Gate, a maiden special weight for 2-year-olds.
Clever Clover is a California-bred out of the Peppered Cat mare Paprika Red, was bred by Daehling Farms, is owned by Daehling Farms and Norman Tavares and is trained by Victor Trujillo.
Clever Clover ran the 5 ½ furlongs in 1:04.49 and won by a head as the 5-2 favorite in a field of six. In two starts, he has earnings of $31,200.
Rumpus Cat, out of the champion Storm Cat mare Sweet Catomine, stands at Daehling Ranch.
