ARCADIA, Calif. (Apr. 20, 2018) – Unusual Heat Turf Classic winner Rye is the lone California-bred entered in Sunday’s $100,000 Grade III San Juan Capistrano Stakes at Santa Anita.
Rye is by English Channel, out of the Unusual Heat mare Phi Beta Heat, was bred by H & E Ranch, is owned by Joseph P. Morey Revocable Trust and is trained by William Morey.
He has eight wins in 17 starts, earnings of $311,199 and is coming off a fifth in the Mar. 24 San Luis Rey.
