ARCADIA, Calif. (May 18, 2016) – Multiple graded winner San Onofre is the lone California-bred entered in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade II Kona Gold Stakes at Santa Anita.
San Onofre is by Surf Cat, out of the Native Regent mare Marrakech Gold, was bred by Bruce Headley, is owned by Matson Racing and trained by Karen Headley.
He has six wins in 13 starts, earnings of $402,385 and is coming off a win in the Apr. 16 Los Angeles Stakes. He was second in this race last year.
