Santa Anita Pushes Back Post Time to 1 p.m.

ARCADIA, Calif. (June 7, 2020)–With six racing days and a total of 11 stakes races remaining in its current Winter Spring Meeting, Santa Anita Park has announced it will go with a 1 p.m. first post time beginning Friday, June 12 through closing day, Sunday, June 21.

The track will offer a pair of stakes this Saturday, June 13, the $75,000 Angels Flight, for 3-year-old fillies at 6 ½ furlongs and the $100,000 Thor’s Echo Stakes, for California-bred or sired 3-year-olds and up at six furlongs.

On Sunday, June 14, fillies and mares three and up will go a mile and one quarter on turf in the $75,000 Possibly Perfect Stakes.

Four graded stakes remain at the current meet, the Grade III, $100,000 Lazaro Barrera for 3-year-olds at 6 ½ furlongs on Saturday, June 20; the Grade III, the $100,000 Wilshire, for fillies and mares three and up going one mile on turf also on June 20; the Grade III, $100,000 American Stakes, for three year olds and up at one mile turf Sunday, June 21 and also on June 21, Santa Anita’s traditional closing day feature, the Grade III, $100,000 San Juan Capistrano Stakes, for three year olds and up at a mile and three quarters over the Camino Real Turf Course.
