Sensational Field for Sensational Star

ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2017) – Nothing but stakes winners, including multiple graded winner and defending champion Bettys Bambino, are entered in Saturday’s $100,000 Sensational Star Stakes for Golden State Series eligible at Santa Anita.

Bettys Bambino is by Unusual Heat, out of the High Brite mare Brite Betty, was bred by owners Alesia, Bran Jam Stable or Ciaglia Racing and is trained by Peter Eurton. He has seven wins in 11 starts, earnings of $378,036 and is coming off a win in the Dec. 26 San Simeon Stakes.

Richard’s Boy is by Idiot Proof, out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare Marissa’s Joy, was bred by Harold and Pamela Tillema, is owned by Rockingham Ranch and is trained by Peter Miller. He has eight wins in 19 starts, earnings of $536,080 and is coming off a win in the Jan. 28 Donald Valpredo California Cup Sprint. He was second in this race last year.

Acceptance is by Vronsky, out of the Perfect Mandate mare Allswellthatnswell, was bred by Old English Rancho, is owned by Finish Line Racing or the Ellwood Johnston Trust and is trained by Kenny Black. He has four wins in 14 starts, earnings of $398,803 and is coming off a third in the Jan. 28 Donald Valpredo Cal Cup Sprint.

Ambitious Brew is by Tizbud, out of the Forest Wildcat mare Kathwen, was bred by owner Pamela Ziebarth and is trained by Martin Jones. He has seven wins in 21 starts, earnings of $499,225 and is coming off a 13th in the Nov. 5 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint. He was second in this race two years ago.

Forest Chatter is a Kentucky-bred by California stallion Dixie Chatter, out of the Forest Wildcat mare Wild Forest, was bred by Herman Sarkowsky, is owned by Pam and Marty Wygod and is trained by Richard Mandella. He has five wins in 14 starts, earnings of $268,855 and is making his first start since a sixth in the July 4 Thor’s Echo. He was third in this race last year.
