From Barton Thoroughbreds
SANTA YNEZ, Calif. (June 1, 2023)—Shaaz, a $1,100,000 two-year-old thoroughbred purchase, has arrived and will be standing stud at Barton Thoroughbreds in Santa Ynez beginning in the 2024 breeding season.
A son of Champion Uncle Mo out of a graded stakes-producing Mineshaft mare, Shaaz had a brilliant career on the race track, earning nearly $200,000 before his racing career ended.
Shaaz won his first three starts at Santa Anita in excellent times and earning exceptional Beyer and E numbers. He defeated current graded-stakes winner Hopkins in his first start.
Favored in all of his five career starts, Shaaz next ran third in a graded stakes mile in Texas, and in the last race of his track performance, he ran fourth in the Grade I Bing Crosby at Del Mar.
Possessing faultless conformation, a black-type pedigree, and superior racing ability, Shaaz would appear to be one of the most desirable bloodlines to be available in California.
Shaaz will be standing for a fee of $5,000 LFSN in 2024, and a physical inspection can be arranged by calling Barton Thoroughbreds at 805-693-1777.
