Sing and Tell Seeks Burbank Repeat

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (July 31, 2015) – Defending champion Sing and Tell is one of four stakes-winning California-breds entered in Sunday’s $50,000 Luther Burbank Handicap for fillies and mares at Santa Rosa.

Central Heat is by Unusual Heat, out of the Smart Strike mare Miss Boomtown, was bred by Abrams, Huston Racing, Matties Racing and Auerbach, is owned by Del Debbio, Delia and Rocheford and is trained by William Delia. She has 12 wins in 31 starts, earnings of $254,691 and is coming off a win in the May 9 Golden Poppy.

Qiaona is by Wilko, out of the Skywalker mare Starlet Sky, was bred by B&B Zietz stables, is owned by Curt and Lila Lanning and trained by Ed Moger. Jr. She has five wins in 27 starts, earnings of $534,579 and is coming off a seventh in the May 23 Fran’s Valentine.

Handfull is by Comic Strip, out of the Roman Dancer mare Honoree Lady, was bred by Dr. and Mrs. William Gray, is owned by Team Green, Hollendorfer and Nakkashian and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. She has 14 wins in 30 starts, earnings of $294,378 and is coming off a win in the July 11 California Governor’s Cup.

Defending champ Sing and Tell is by Alymagic, out of the Avenue of Flags mare Refreshing Song, was bred by Daehling Ranch, is owned by Daehling Ranch and Holly Evans and is trained by Evans. She has seven wins in 26 starts, earnings of $246,762 and is coming off a third in the May 9 Golden Poppy.
