DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 19, 2022) — California stallion Smokem was represented by his first winner on Friday when It’s Saul Right won the second race at Del Mar for California-bred maidens.
It’s Saul Right was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Saul Carillo, Victor Flores and Eugene Zondlo and is trained by Steven Miyadi. He also had three seconds in five starts and earnings of $57,620.
He ran the 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:05.53 and won by one-half length at odds of 7-2 in a field of nine.
