Smokey Image Risks Unbeaten Streak

DEL MAR, Calif. (Oct. 28, 2015) – Unbeaten Smokey Image leads a field of 10 in Friday’s $200,000 Golden State Juvenile Stakes for 2-year-old Golden State Series eligibles at Del Mar.
Smokey Image is by Southern Image, out of the Free House mare Special Smoke, was bred by C-Punch Ranch, is owned by Irvin Racing Stable and trained by Greg James. He has won all four starts with earnings of $187,600 and is coming off a win in the Sept. 4 I’m Smokin Stakes.
Gio Mio is by Gio Ponti, out of the Is It True mare Ring True, was bred by Thomas Bachman, is owned by Bachman, Brown, Foley, Hendricks and Hendricks and is trained by Art Sherman. He is a maiden making his third start with earnings of $16,000.
Defiant One is by Slew’s Tiznow, out of the Defy Logic mare Defiant Thought, was bred by owner Joseph LaCombe Stables and is trained by Daniel Dunham. He is a maiden making his fifth start with earnings of $6,110.
