ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 21, 2015) – Multiple stakes winner Soi Phet and fellow California-bred Motown Men and Soi Phet take on multiple Grade I winner Dortmund in Saturday’s $70,000 Big Bear Stakes at Santa Anita.
Motown Men is by Decarchy, out of the Gilded Time mare Ringading, was bred by Mark Gorman & Doug O’Neill, is owned by Gulliver Racing and trained by Ted West. He has seven wins in 33 starts, earnings of $459,109 and is coming off a fifth in the Sept. 12 E.B. Johnston.
Soi Phet is by Tizbud, out of the Siberian Summer mare Summer Jersey, was bred by ARCHA Racing, is owned by Gerald Benowitz, Sandra Powell and Mathilde and Paul Viskovich and is trained by Leonard Powell. He has eight wins in 37 starts, earnings of $507,228 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 12 E.B. Johnston. He was fifth in this race last year and fourth the year before.
