Stakes-winning Pair in Golden State Fillies

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 30, 2023) – Stakes winners Grand Slam Smile and Crazy Hot and Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Fly a Fantasy are entered in Friday’s $175,000 Golden State Juvenile Fillies Stakes for Golden State Series-eligible 2-year-old fillies at Santa Anita.

Recalcitrant is by Pavel, out of the Square Eddie mare Hacktivism, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. She has one win in two starts, earnings of $48,800 and is making her first start since a May 20 maiden win.

Borntostaythirsty is by Stay Thirsty, out of the Zensational mare Spring Moon, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Thomsen Racing and Thomas Halasz and trained by Steve Knapp. She has one win in five starts, earnings of $63,640 and is coming off a Sept. 16 maiden win.

Satellite Heart is by Accelerate, out of the Unusual Heat mare Tahitian Lagoon, was bred by Harris Farms & Donald Valpredo, is owned by Valle Las Palmas, Robert Cannon, Kelley Goodwin and Timothy Goodwin and trained by Alfredo Marquez. She has two wins in three starts, earnings of $53,360 and is coming off an Oct. 20 starter allowance win.

Petit Filet is by Pavel, out of the Momentum mare Charred Rare, was bred by Reddam Racing, is owned by Victor Rodas, Holly Rodas and Oscar Garcia and is trained by Alfred Vuocolo. She has one win in two starts, earnings of $37,100 and is coming off a Sept. 30 maiden win.
