TORONTO, Canada (June 27, 2015) – Surtsey, an Ontario-bred daughter of California stallion Heatseeker, won Saturday’s $100,000 Zadracarta Stakes for fillies and mares at Woodbine.
Surtsey is out of the Bold Executive mare Kick’em Jimmy. She ran the seven furlongs in 1:27.02 and won by one length at odds of 6-1 for breeder/owner Yvonne Schwabe and trainer Kevin Attard.
Surtsey, a multiple stakes winner, has five wins in 17 starts with earnings of $366,174.
