Tam’s Little Angel Looks for a Repeat

PLEASANTON, Calif. (June 21, 2023) – Defending champion Tam’s Little Angel and fellow California-breds Twilight Empire and Smoothlikebuttah are entered in Saturday’s $75,000 She’s a Tiger Stakes for fillies and mares at the Alameda County Fair.

Smoothlikebuttah is by Mr. Big, out of the Five Star Day mare Eight Daughters, was bred by NP Thoroughbreds, is owned by Robert Bach & William Tessar and trained by Steve Knapp. She has three wins in 40 starts, earnings of $408,012 and is coming off a fourth in the June 10 Santa Margarita.

Twilight Empire is by Empire Way, out of the Bernstein mare Rugula, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by G C C I and trained by Clifford DeLima. She has four wins in 12 starts, earnings of $108,290 and is coming off a fourth in a June 2 allowance.

Tam’s Little Angel is by Tamarando, out of the Lucky Pulpit mare Angel Diane, was bred by owners Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Steven Specht. She has four wins in 19 starts, earnings of $201,458 and is coming off a third in a June 2 allowance. She won this race last year.
