DEL MAR, Calif. (Nov. 19, 2022) — Even-money favorite The Chosen Vron, a California-bred son of the late Vronsky, took aim at the leader Big City Lights at the three-eighths pole and then just outran him to win Saturday’s $100,000 Cary Grant Stakes for Golden State Series eligible at Del Mar.

Out of the Tiz Wonderful mare Tiz Molly and bred by Tiz Molly partners, The Chosen Vron is owned by Sondereker Racing, trainer J. Eric Kruljac, Robert Fetkin and Richard Thornburg.

The Chosen Vron has eight wins in 12 starts and earnings of $513,678. His time for the seven furlongs was a quick 1:20.66, approaching the track record of 1:20. It was his seventh stakes win.

Big City Lights was second and Coalinga Road rallied for third in a field whittled to four by the scratches of Finneus and Surfing Star.
