The Pamplemousse Colt Brings $105,000

POMONA, CA (March 3, 2014)-The Pamplemousse colt hip number 135 fetched $105,000 from the consignment of Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), he was purchased by Laurence F. Leavy. Hip 135 is from the first crop of The Pamplemousse.

After previewing in .10 seconds the gray or roan became the highest selling California sired colt in the sale. The Pamplemousse colt was bred and raised at Rancho San Miguel and is out of the Storm Cat broodmare Hurricane Alert. Hurricane Alert is the dam of stakes winner Golden Hurricane and is from the immediate family of multiple grade one winning millionaire Fly Till Dawn.

The Pamplemousse started off the 2014 juvenile sales year with a six figure two-year-old; after having his yearlings average over $53,000 last fall.

The Pamplemousse was a multiple graded stakes winner at Santa Anita and is standing in 2014 for $2,500.
