ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 16, 2023) – Defending champion Top Harbor has five California-bred challengers among entries in Saturday’s $50,000 Oakland Stakes at Golden Gate.
Love Candy is by Danzing Candy, out of the Tapizar mare Love Winning, was bred by Stuart Tsujimoto, is owned by Mary Tucker and trained by Samuel Calvario. He has five wins in 21 starts, earnings of $165,274 and is coming off a second in the Oct. 15 Bull Dog.
Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Talbot Bay is by Northern Causeway, out of the Swiss Yodeler mare Swiss Gem, was bred by owner Rozamund Barclay and is trained by Jorge Bautista. He has four wins in 11 starts, earnings of $85,680 and is coming off a third in an Oct. 22 allowance.
Alexander’s Dream is by Gervinho, out of the Alphabet Soup mare Strawberry Flash, was bred by M. Auerbach, is owned by RKJ Stable and is trained by Reid France. He has five wins in 22 starts, earnings of $123,170 and is coming off back-to-back allowance wins.
