LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 2, 2014) — California stallion Unusual Heat finished fourth in the nation for 2013 progeny turf earnings, according to Daily Racing Form.
Led by Grade II winner Gervinho’s $290,140 in purses, progeny by Unusual Heat totaled $3,390,407 in turf earnings, trailing only Kentucky stallions Kitten’s Joy, Giant’s Causeway and Stormy Atlantic.
Ranking 10th, 11th and 15th on the list, respectively, were prominent Kentucky stallions Medaglia d’Oro, Smart Strike and Tapit.
Unusual Heat stands at Harris Farms and last year’s stud fee was $20,000.
