DEL MAR, Calif. (Sept. 3, 2015) – Multiple stakes winner Uzziel and fellow California-bred Velvet Mesquite are entered in Sunday’s $80,000 C.E.R.F. Stakes for fillies and mares at Del Mar.
Multiple stakes winner Uzziel is by Harlington, out of the Lord At War mare Pretti Woman, was bred by owners James and Tammy McKenney and is trained by J.K. Desormeaux. She has four wins in 17 starts, earnings of $267,088 and is coming off a third in the Aug. 16 Rancho Bernardo.
Velvet Mesquite is by In Excess, out of the Huddle Up mare Mesquite, was bred by owner Harris Farms and is trained by Blake Heap. She has five wins in 13 starts, earnings of $305,606 and is making her first start since a third in the Mar. 14 Irish O’Brien.
