Wild Jewels Mines Golden Nugget Stakes

ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2023) – Odds-on favorite Wild Jewels wore down fellow California-bred Good Lovin in the last sixteenth of a mile to win Saturday’s $50,000 Golden Nugget Stakes for 2-year-olds at Golden Gate.

Wild Jewels is by Tamarando, out of the Distorted Humor mare Ribbon of Jewels, was bred by owners Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Steven Specht.

He has three wins in five starts, earnings of $94,460 and was coming off a Sept. 11 optional claiming win.

Wild Jewels won by a half-length at odds of 3-5 in a field of seven and ran the six furlongs in 1:09.77.
