Wood Next for Stay Thirsty’s Mind Control

OZONE PARK, N.Y. (Mar. 11, 2019) – Mind Control, a Kentucky-bred son of California stallion Stay Thirsty, earned 20 points toward qualifying for the Kentucky Derby by finishing second in Saturday’s $300,000 Gotham Stakes for 3-year-olds at Aqueduct.

Red Oak Stable and Madaket Stables’ Grade 1-winner, trained by Gregory Sacco, earlier won 10 Kentucky Derby points by winning the Jerome New Year’s Day. He is tied for fifth in the Kentucky Derby points standings with Game Winner.

Mind Control won the Grade 1 Hopeful as a 2-year-old and is being pointed to the $750,000 Grade I Wood Memorial on Saturday, April 6, at Aqueduct.
