Cal-bred Trio Tries Charles Taylor Derby

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Sept. 24, 2023) – California-breds My Man Biggie, Let There Be Peace and Special Moment are entered in Saturday’s $75,000 Charles Taylor Derby for 3-year-olds at Albuquerque.

My Man Biggie is by Mr. Big, out of the Yankee Gentleman mare Twin Spirit, was bred by George Krikorian, is owned by Cameron McVay and trained by Shannon Simpson. He has three wins in 19 starts, earnings of $67,207 and is coming off a win in the Sept. 11 Arapahoe Park Derby.

Let There Be Peace is by Stanford, out of the Ministers Wild Cat mare Minster’sadventure, was bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, is owned by Amanda Sweeten and is trained by Andres Gonzalez. He has two wins in 11 starts, earnings of $47,232 and is coming off a win in a May 6 allowance.

Special Moment is by Stanford, out of the Blame mare Blame It Onthesong, was bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, is owned by Chris Aulds and Gaylon McGee and is trained by H. Ray Ashford. He has two wins in 12 starts, earnings of $67,796 and is coming off a fifth in a Sept. 13 allowance.
