OCALA, Fla. (Apr. 27, 2023) – A pair of California-breds brought six-figure prices at Thursday’s session of the OBS 2-Year-Old in Training Spring Sale.
Hip 843, a Nyquist colt, sold for $400,000 to Slugo Racing. The colt, out of the stakes-placed Square Eddie mare Radish, was bred by Reddam Racing and consigned by Wavertree Stables, agent. He posted a 10.0 second time in the under-tack furlong workout.
Hip 834, a colt by Maclean’s Music, sold for $240,000 to Jet Horse LLC. The colt, out of the Bernardini mare Queen Bernardina, was bred by Liberty Road Stables and consigned by Scanlon Training and Sales, agent. A $145,000 purchase at the Fasig-Tipton California Yearling Sale, he also was timed in 10.1 for one furlong.
