Cal-breds Entered in Breeders’ Cup

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 28, 2019) – Five California-breds were entered on Monday for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, to be run at Santa Anita Friday and Saturday Nov. 1 and 2.

Acclimate is entered in the $4 million Grade I Longines Breeders’ Cup turf at 1 ½ miles. Acclimate is by Acclamation, out of the Boundary mare Knows No Bounds, was bred by Old English Rancho, Sal Berumen and Patsy Berumen, is owned by the Ellwood Johnston Trust and Timmy Time Racing, is trained by Phil D’Amato and will be ridden by Martin Garcia. He has six wins in 17 starts, earnings of $365,872 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 28 John Henry Turf Championship. He has the No. 2 post position and is 20-1 on the morning line.

Multiple Grade I winner Spiced Perfection is entered in the $1 million Grade I Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint at seven furlongs. Spiced Perfection is by Smiling Tiger, out of the Pleasantly Perfect mare Perfect Feat, was bred by Premier Thoroughbreds, is owned by Pantofel Stable, Wachtel Stable and Peter Deutsch, is trained by Peter Miller and will be ridden by John Velasquez. She has eight wins in 18 starts, earnings of $1,026,905 and is coming off a win in the Oct. 5 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes. She has the No. 9 outside post position and is 4-1 on the morning line.

Mo See Cal is entered in the $2 million Grade I Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff. She is by Uncle Mo, out of the Lydgate mare Do Dat Blues, was bred by Rozamund Barclay, is owned by Rockingham Ranch & David Bernsen, is trained by Peter Miller and will be ridden by Paco Lopez. She has five wins in 16 starts, earnings of $253,664 and is coming off an Oct. 10 optional claimer. She has the No. 10 post position and is 30-1 on the morning line.

Eddie Haskell is entered in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at five furlongs. He is by Square Eddie, out of the Boston Harbor mare Teresa Ann, was bred by Reddam Racing, is owned by Philip Wood & James Hailey, is trained by Mark Glatt and will be ridden by Joel Rosario. He has 10 wins in 24 starts, earnings of $627,707 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 27 Eddie D Stakes. He has the No. 10 post position and is 9-2 on the morning line.

Multiple stakes winner Bulletproof One is the first also-eligible in the $1 million Grade II Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at five furlongs. She is by Idiot Proof, out of the Decarchy mare Onefunsonofagun, was bred by Victory Rose Thoroughbreds & KMN Racing, is owned by Gary Barber, Cecil Barber, Eclipse Thoroughbreds and Wachtel Sable, trained by Peter Miller and would be ridden by Javier Castellano. She has three wins in five starts, earnings of $159,400 and is coming off a second in the Oct. 6 Speakeasy.

Also entered is Coal Front, a Kentucky-bred son of California stallion Stay Thirsty, in the $1 million Grade I The Big Ass Fans Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile.
