Galilean Looks Tough in Cal Cup Derby

ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 15, 2019) – Multiple stakes winner Galilean is entered in Monday’s $200,000 California Cup Derby for Golden State Series eligible 3-year-olds at Santa Anita.

Galilean is by Uncle Mo, out of the El Prado mare Fresia, was bred by Bar C Racing Stables, is owned by West Point Thoroughbred Stables, Barker or Sandbrook and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has two wins in three starts, earnings of $151,000 and is coming off a win in the Dec. 16 King Glorious.

Loud Mouth is by Boisterous, out of the Tale of the Cat mare Drama Cat, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $34,151 and is coming off a Jan. 31 maiden win.

Whooping Jay is by Square Eddie, out of the Sharp Humor mare Funny Belle, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $57,120 and is coming off a second in a Jan. 25 optional claimer.

Irish Heatwave is by Unusual Heat, out of the Broken Vow mare Irish Winnie, was bred by Moger Inc. & Neary Racing, is owned by Calumet Farm and trained by J.K. Desormeaux. He has two wins in five starts, earnings of $79,400 and is coming off a fourth in the Jan. 26 California Cup Turf Sprint Stakes.

Feeling Strong is by Capital Account, out of the Choctaw Ridge mare Feel Ridge, was bred by owner BG Stables and is trained by Hector Palma. He has one win in seven starts, earnings of $66,642 and is coming off a sixth in a Jan. 25 optional claimer.
