ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 15, 2019) – Eight days after winning the Grade III Sweet Life Stakes, Apache Princess wheels back to face stakes-winning Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Lakerball in Monday’s $200,000 California Cup Oaks for Golden State Series eligible 3-year-old fillies at Santa Anita.

Lippy is by Square Eddie, out of the Jade Hunter mare Sarah Jade, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. She has two wins in four starts, earnings of $98,700 and is making her first start since a third in the Aug. 1 California Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes.

Macho Unusual is by Mucho Macho Man, out of the Unusual Heat mare Not Unusual, was bred by owner George Krikorian and trained by Tim Yakteen. She has one win in four starts, earnings of $90,420 and is coming off a fourth in a Jan. 27 optional claimer.

Tiz a Master is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare Bea’s Cee, was bred by SayJay Racing and trained by William Morey. She has three wins in four starts, earnings of $69,480 and is coming off three consecutive wins.

The $1,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has three wins in six starts, earnings of $129,825 and is coming off a sixth in the Nov. 24 Jimmy Durante.

Apache Princess is by Unusual Heat, out of the Indian Charlie mare Puskita, was bred by owner KMN Racing and trained by J.K. Desormeaux. She has three wins in six starts, earnings of $171,960 and is coming off a win in Sunday’s Sweet Life.
