ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 21, 2023) — Dr. Mary Scollay, Chief of Science for the Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU), will be at Santa Anita on Monday, February 27th to discuss the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority’s Anti-Doping and Medication Control Program.
As directed under HISA, HIWU will take over responsibility of Thoroughbred anti-doping and medication control testing and enforcement on March 27th. Their authority over drug testing will include all Thoroughbred races and all Thoroughbreds in training with recorded works.
Trainers, owners, and other interested persons are encouraged to attend this meeting.
