Lakerball, Mucho Unusual in Matriarch

DEL MAR, Calif. (Nov. 29, 2019) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate and stakes winner Lakerball and fellow California-bred Mucho Unusual are entered in Sunday’s $300,000 Grade I Matriarch Stakes for fillies and mares at Del Mar.

Lakerball is by Lakerville, out of the Capsized mare Category Ten, was bred by Rancho de Los Aviadores, is owned by Pappas Horse Racing, Purple Rein Racing or Roberts and is trained by Doug O’Neill. The Northern California Yearling Sale graduate has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $162,825 and is maker her first start since a fifth in the Apr. 28 Campanile Stakes.

Mucho Unusual is by Mucho Macho Man, out of the Unusual Heat mare Not Unusual, was bred by owner George Krikorian and is trained by Tim Yakteen. She has four wins in nine starts, earnings of $385,031 and is coming off a third in the Oct. 26 Autumn Miss.
