ARCADIA, Calif. (June 24, 2015) – Grade II winner Masochistic and fellow California-bred San Onofre are entered in Saturday’s $300,000 Grade I Triple Bend Stakes at Santa Anita.
Masochistic is by South After, out of the Unusual Heat mare Trotinette, was bred by Francoise Dupuis and Louise Julian, is owned by Los Pollos Hermanos and Jay Em Ess Racing and is trained by Ron Ellis. He has five wins in seven starts, earnings of $343,850 and is coming off a win in the Apr. 11 Kona Gold.
San Onofre is by Surf Cat, out of the Native Regent mare Marrakech Gold, was bred by Bruce Headley, is owned by Matson Racing and is trained by Karen Headley. He has four wins in eight starts, earnings of $255,040 and is coming off a second in the May 25 Los Angeles Stakes.
