Nevin Draws Five Cal-breds

PLEASANTON, Calif. (July 3, 2014) – Five California-breds are included in the field for Sunday’s $50,000 Everett Nevin Stakes for 2-year-olds at Oak Tree at Pleasanton.

Lucky Fame is by Lucky J. H., out of the Western Fame mare Sierra Fame, was bred by George and Clare Schmitt, is owned by Richard Meister and George and Clare Schmitt and is trained by Jeff Bonde. He won his lone start June 27 with earnings of $9,050.

Global Magician is by Globalize, out of the Trans Island mare Shebang, was bred by Ellen Jackson, is owned by Wachtel Stable and Gary Barber and is trained by Peter Miller. He won his lone start May 17 with earnings of $20,280.

Local Reason is by Olmodavor, out of the Bertrando mare Local Flavor, was bred by H & E Ranch, is owned by Curt and Lila Lanning and trained by Ed Moger Jr. He won his lone start June 21 with earnings of $16,250.

Mahorney is by Roi Charmant, out of the Candi’s Gold mare Marty’s Zee, was bred by owner Martin Bach and is trained by William Morey. He has one win in two starts, earnings of $27,040 and is coming off a maiden win June 7.

Cartoonist is by Comic Strip, out of the Devil On Ice mare Ivy Lane, was bred by owners Dr. William and Jill Gray and is trained by Greg James. He is making his first start.
