NorCal Grad Chancery Way at Golden Gate

ALBANY, Calif. (June 8, 2023) – Stakes-winning Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Chancery Way and comebacking stakes winner Sadie Bluegrass are entered in Sunday’s $75,000 Dream of Summer Stakes for Golden State Series eligible fillies and mares at Golden Gate.

Chancery Way is by Mr. Big, out of the War Chant mare This Means War, was bred by Harris Farms & John Nicoletti, is owned by Andy Smolich and Rob Smolich and trained by Jamey Thomas. The $6,500 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has four wins in seven starts, earnings of $141,779 and is coming off a second in the Apr. 29 Camilla Urso Stakes.

Stakes winner Sassy Nature is by Straight Fire, out of the After Market mare Renee’s Queen, was bred by Straight Fire, LLC, is owned by CTR Stable and trained by Luis Mendez. She has three wins in seven starts, earnings of $158,990 and is coming off an eighth in the May 3 Mamzelle Overnight Stakes.

Tamantari is by Tamarando, out of the Decarchy mare Antares World, was bred by owners Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Jeff Bonde. She has two wins in 13 starts, earnings of $91,394 and is coming off a fourth in a May 13 allowance.

Michievous Curlin is by Curlin to Mischief, out of the Stormy Atlantic mare Granny Got Game, was bred by Lilley Ranch, is owned by Robert Jones and trained by Faith Taylor. She has five wins in 29 starts, earnings of $168,998 and is coming off an Apr. 21 allowance win.

Smiling Molly is by Smiling Tiger, out of the Exchange Rate mare Jilted Lady, was bred by W. Morgan Fussell and Joseph Wisner, is owned by Hoof Pick Racing Partners and is trained by D. Wayne Baker. She has two wins in 11 starts, earnings of $110,690 and is coming off a sixth in an Apr. 21 allowance.

Rousing Jewel is by Rousing Sermon, out of the Distorted Humor mare Ribbon of Jewels, was bred by owners Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Steven Specht. She has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $102,630 and is coming off a fourth in the Apr. 30 Campanile Stakes.
