NorCal Sale Grad Enters KLAQ ‘Cap

SUNLAND PARK, N.M. (Dec. 21, 2019) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Minister of Soul and fellow California-bred Hardcore Troubador, the defending champion, are entered in Saturday’s $65,000 KLAQ Handicap at Sunland Park.

Minister of Soul is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Bernstein mare Sensitive Soul, was bred by Dahlberg Farms, is owned by Esteban Valdez and trained by E Martinez. He has seven wins in 19 starts, earnings of $186,896 and is coming off a second in the Oct. 28 Roadrunner. He was fifth in this race last year.

Hardcore Troubador is by Roi Charmant, out of the Good Journey mare Farallon, was bred by Richard Barton Ent., and is owned by trainer Edward Freeman. He has five wins in 20 starts, earnings of $209,816 and is coming off a fourth in a Dec. 6 starter’s allowance. He won this race last year.
