ALBANY, Calif. (Apr. 26, 2023) – Multiple stakes winner Passarando and fellow California-bred Nauvoo are entered in Saturday’s $100,000 California Derby for 3-year-olds at Golden Gate.
Passarando is by Tamarando, out of the Lucky Pulpit mare I’m Passing Ya Now, was bred by owners Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Steven Specht. He has four wins in nine starts, earnings of $246,830 and is coming off a fourth in the Feb. 11 El Camino Real.
Nauvoo is by Not This Time, out of the Uncle Mo mare Hallelujah Girl, was bred by Chappell Alpine Farm, is owned by MJVET Stables and Taboada Racing Stables and is trained by Jonathan Wong. He has five wins in 10 starts, earnings of $62,986 and is coming off a Mar. 31 claiming win.
