ARCADIA, Calif. (Mar. 9, 2016) – Graded winner San Onofre is the lone California-bred entered in Saturday’s $300,000 Grade II San Carlos Stakes at Santa Anita.
San Onofre is by Surf Cat, out of the Native Regent mare Marrakech Gold, was bred by Bruce Headley, is owned by Matson Racing and trained by Karen Headley.
He has five wins in 11 starts, earnings of $342,040 and is coming off a fourth in the Jan. 30 Donald Valpredo California Cup Sprint.
