ARCADIA, Calif. (June 3, 2020) – Stakes winner Smiling Shirlee is the lone California-bred entered in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade II Santa Anita Oaks for 3-year-old fillies.
Smiling Shirlee is by Smiling Tiger, out of the Grand Slam mare Whobetterthanus, was bred by Premier Thoroughbreds, is owned by Brown, Klein or Lebherz and is trained by Jeff Bonde.
She has three wins in eight starts, earnings of $239,220 and is coming off a win in the May 16 Evening Jewel.
