Soi Phet is Back Again in Crystal Water

ARCADIA, Calif. (Apr. 24, 2019) – Graybeard millionaire Soi Phet returns from a vacation to defend his title in Saturday’s $100,000 Crystal Water Stakes for Golden State Series eligibles at Santa Anita.

Soi Phet is an 11-year-old by Tizbud, out of the Siberian Summer mare Summer Jersey, was bred by ARCHA Racing, is owned by Benowitz Family Trust, Powell or Viskovich and is trained by Leonard Powell. He has 15 wins in 61 starts, earnings of $1,022,864 and is making his first start since a sixth in the Sept. 8 E.B. Johnston. He won this race last year.

The Street Fighter is by Street Boss, out of the Alphabet Soup mare Silver Swallow, was bred by Bruce Headley and Andrew Molasky and is owned and trained by Headley. He has two wins in 10 starts, earnings of $107,990 and is coming off an April 7 allowance win.

Stakes winner Hardboot is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Cryptoclearance mare Mme. Espionage, was bred by James Mann, is owned by Silver Creek Stables and trained by Michele Dollase. He has two wins in nine starts, earnings of $135,010 and is coming off a seventh in the Dec. 16 Mathis Brothers Mile.

Tule Fog is by Surf Cat, out of the Free House mare Teardownthatwall, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Sherry or Sierra Stables and is trained by Javier Sierra. He has three wins in 14 starts, earnings of $154,665 and is coming off a fifth in the Mar. 31 Sensational Star. He was fifth in this race last year.

Brandothebartender is by Tribal Rule, out of the Stravinsky mare Frysland, was bred by John Haagsma and Wesley Ward, is owned by Flawless Racing, Flanagan or Jarvis and is trained by Craig Dollase. He has six wins in 24 starts, earnings of $360,501 and is coming off a third in the Mar. 31 Sensational Star.
