Somethings Unusual Wins Fitzsimmons

PHOENIX, Calif. (Jan. 16, 2016) – Somethings Unusual, the lone California-bred in the field, rallied from next to last to win Saturday’s $75,000 Cotton Fitzsimmons Mile at Turf Paradise.

Somethings Unusual is by Vronsky, out of the Unusual Heat mare Unusual Prospect, was bred by Old English Rancho, is owned by Bruce Treitman and trained by Michael McCarthy.

He ran the mile on turf in 1:37.01 and won by a head at odds of 8-1 in the field of nine.
