Stakes-winning Lineup in California Dreamin’

DEL MAR, Calif. (July 21, 2019) – A millionaire, two Grade I winners, four graded stakes winners and eight stakes winners are entered in Friday’s loaded $150,000 California Dreamin’ Stakes for Golden State Series eligible at Del Mar.

Tule Fog is by Surf Cat, out of the Free House mare Teardownthatwall, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Sherry or Sierra Stables and is trained by J.J. Sierra. He has three wins in 17 starts, earnings of $195,016 and is coming off a second in the June 29 Bertrando.

Grade I winner What a View is by Vronsky, out of the Manilla mare Oceans N Mountains, was bred by Old English Rancho, Patsy Berumen & Sal Berumen, is owned by Finish Line Racing, The Ellwood Johnston Trust or Taste of Victory Stables and is trained by Phil D’Amato. He has eight wins in 27 starts, earnings of $903,706 and is making his first start since a ninth in the Del Mar Mile last August. He was fifth in this race last year.

Grade III winner Grecian Fire is by Unusual Heat, out of the Kitten’s Joy mare Maddie’s Odyssey, was bred by owner KMN Racing and is trained by J.K. Desormeaux. He has five wins in 24 starts, earnings of $298,702 and is coming off a third in the June 29 Bertrando. He was second in this race last year.

Five-time Grade II winner Ashleyluvssugar is by Game Plan, out of the Urgent Request mare Ashley’s Folly, was bred by owner Alesia, Bran Jam Stables or Ciaglia Racing and is trained by Peter Eurton. He has 10 wins in 34 starts, earnings of $1,470,583 and is coming off a third in the May 25 Charles Whittingham. He was sixth in this race last year.

The Street Fighter is by Street Boss, out of the Alphabet Soup mare Silver Swallow, was bred by Bruce Headley & Andrew Molasky and is owned and trained by Headley. He has two wins in 13 starts, earnings of $127,761 and is coming off a second in a June 15 optional claimer.

Stakes winner The Hunted is by Unusual Heat, out of the Jade Hunter mare Lethal Hunter, was bred by M. Auerbach, is owned by Little Red Feather Racing, Auerbach or Ciaglia Racing and is trained by Richard Baltas.
