WINNIPEG, Manitoba (June 28, 2023) — California-bred Tiger Dad outdueled Big Nick through the stretch to win Wednesday night’s $50,000 Free Press Stakes at Assiniboia Downs.
Tiger Dad is a 7-year-old gelding by Smiling Tiger, out of the Unusual Heat mare Q T Shea, was bred by Mark Devereaux, Scott Gross & Mark Gross, is owned by Rosette Ranch and trained by Robertino Diodoro.
He has eight wins in 39 starts, earnings of $513,250 and has four stakes wins.
Tiger Dad ran the six furlongs in 1:11.17 and won by a head at odds of 4-1 in a field of nine.
