Unusual Heatwave Gets First Winner

ALBANY, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2019) – California stallion Unusual Heatwave was represented by his first winner on Thursday when Always in Vegas won the second race at Golden Gate.

Always in Vegas is out of the Tiznow mare Tizalwaysomething, was bred by Alexis Barba, is owned by Begley, Mathis, Panian and Porreca and is trained by Andy Mathis.

The 2-year-old filly ran the five furlongs in 1:00.73 and won by three-quarters of a length at odds of 9-2 in a field of six.
