Cal-bred Duo in California Derby

ALBANY, Calif. (Apr. 24, 2019) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Rey Coliman and fellow California-bred Angelo’s Pride are entered in Saturday’s $100,000 California Derby for 3-year-olds at Golden Gate.

Rey Coliman is by Fort Larned, out of the Singing Saint mare Heavenly Dream, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Ruben Arechiga or Felix Rondan and is trained by Rondan. The $1,700 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has one win in 10 starts, earnings of $57,838 and is coming off a second in a Mar. 29 optional claimer.

Angelo’s Pride is by Lakerville, out of the Game Plan mare Mollie O, was bred by owners Delia, George & Stone and is trained by Bill Delia. He has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $43,666 and is coming off a Mar. 28 starter’s allowance win.
