Cal-bred Pair in Providencia Stakes

ARCADIA, Calif. (Apr. 3, 2019) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Lakerball and fellow California-bred stakes winner Apache Princess are entered in Saturday’s $150,000 Providencia Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Santa Anita.

Lakerball is by Lakerville, out of the Capsized mare Category Ten, was bred by Rancho do Los Aviadores, is owned by Pappas Horse Racing, Purple Rein Racing or Roberts and is trained by Doug O’Neill. She has three wins in seven starts, earnings of $151,825 and is coming off a third in the Feb. 18 California Cup Oaks.

Apache Princess is by Unusual Heat, out of the Indian Charlie mare Puskita, was bred by owner KMN Racing and is trained by J. Keith Desormeaux. The $1,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has three wins in seven starts, earnings of $177,960 and is coming off a fifth in the Feb. 18 California Cup Oaks.
