DEL MAR, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2023) – Grade I stakes winner Fun to Dream and fellow California-bred Smoothlikebuttah are entered in Monday’s $100,000 Tranquility Lake Stakes for fillies and mares at Del Mar.
Fun to Dream is by Arrogate, out of the Maria’s Mon mare Lutess, was bred by Connie Pageler & trainer Bob Baffert and is owned by Natalie Baffert and Pageler. She has six wins in nine starts, earnings of $654,590 and is coming off a fifth in the Aug. 5 Clement L. Hirsch Stakes. She was the California-bred Horse of the Year in 2022.
Smoothlikebuttah is by Mr. Big out of the Five Star Day mare Eight Daughters, was bred by NP Thoroughbreds, is owned by Robert Bach and William Tessar and is trained by Steve Knapp. She has three wins in 42 starts, earnings of $421,566 and is coming off a third in an Aug. 5 optional claimer.
