Chancery Way Joins Redrawn Solana Beach

DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 17, 2023) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Chancery Way and fellow multiple stakes winners Rose Maddox and Eddie’s New Dream are entered in Friday’s rescheduled $125,000 Solana Beach Stakes for Golden State Series-eligible fillies and mares at Del Mar.

Rose Maddox is by Grazen, out of the Unusual Heat mare Heat the Rocks, was bred by owner Nick Alexander and is trained by Steven Miyadi. She has five wins in 16 starts, earnings of $328,282 and is coming off a ninth in the July 4 Great Lady M.

Chancery Way is by Mr. Big, out of the War Chant mare This Means War, was bred by Harris Farms and John Nicoletti, is owned by Andy Smolich & Rob Smolich and is trained by Jamey Thomas. The $6,500 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale out of the Harris Farms consignment has five wins in nine starts, earnings of $195,770 and is coming off win in the July 22 Governor’s Cup.

Sunshine Babe is by Grazen, out of the Old Topper mare Toppers Sunshine, was bred by owners Youkhanne or Houkhanna and is trained by Marcelo Polanco. She has three wins in 22 starts, earnings of $205,574 and is coming off fourth in a July 29 optional claimer.

Eddie’s New Dream is by Square Eddie, out of the Tapit mare Walkingonadream, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Ben Cecil. She has seven wins in 25 starts, earnings of $620,080 and is coming off a second in a July 23 optional claimer. She was second in this race last year.

Madiha is by Shaman Ghost, out of the Great Notion mare Very Few Details, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Lovingier, Madhia or Navarro and is trained by Craig Dollase. She has three wins in 19 starts, earnings of $186,347 and is coming off a third in an Ang. 3 optional claimer.

Glorious Spring is by Grazen, out of the Candy Ride mare Maziette, was bred by owner Harris Farms and is trained by Dan Blacker. She has three wins in eight starts, earnings of $153,080 and is coming off back-to-back optional claiming wins.

Ultimate Hy is by Haimish Hy, out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare Ultimate Summer, was bred by owners Abrams, Dutko or Paran and is trained by Carla Gaines. She has three wins in 16 starts, earnings of $250,710 and is coming off a July 29 optional claiming win.

Harper’s Gallop is by Suances, out of the Broken Vow mare Dypsy, was bred by Red Baron’s Barn & Vaya Con Suerte, is owned by Fihn Holdings Inc, Kitaen, Jordan and Riggs, Kevin and is trained by Jesus Uranga.
