When ready to vote, members should click: “Register email” and enter their email address, then click: “Validate Email.” An access code will be emailed to that address if validated. Capo Kane Headed to Withers Stakes

(Feb. 3, 2021) — California-bred Capo Kane will look to validate his upset victory in last month’s Jerome Stakes and prove himself worthy of being considered a Kentucky Derby candidate when he meets eight rivals in Saturday’s Grade 3, $250,000 Withers Stakes at Aqueduct. The Withers, as did the Jerome, offers its winner 10 qualifying points to the May 1 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. The Jerome, run on New Year’s Day, was a one-turn mile. The Withers is run at 1 1/8 miles around two turns. Congress Passes Horse Racing Integrity Act

Breeder-Owner Harold Tillema Passes

He was born on January 28, 1945 to K.D. and Allie Tillema. He was the 5th born of nine children. Their family lived in Cypress, CA and when Harold was three they moved to Corona, then to Chino. It was on the Riverside Drive dairy that he started milking cows at the age of 14 while attending school and the house his parents built still stands today. The race at one mile is the feature attraction on the final day of the Los Angeles County Fair Winter Thoroughbred meet. Trainer/Breeder Barry Abrams Passes at 66
